Here is the rest of my drawing process for the strips...
Penciled strip. I've just recently begun to use a mechanical pencil for my R.F.D. work. I'm not very loose with my penciling, I keep it pretty tight and close to what the final inking will be. I also use basic photocopies of my characters and trace them into position in the panels using my light table. This speeds up the process and gives me the consistency of size and likeness that I want.
Inking the art. I no longer freehand most straight lines. I use a combination of markers for this step - 08 & 03 Microns, 1.0 & 0.7 Staedtlers, Onyx Uniball ball point, Fine Point Sharpies and Extra Fine Point Sharpie. The Extra Fine Point Sharpie is my all-time favorite inker - I used to draw & letter the whole strip with just this one marker. Much to my chagrin Sharpie has discontinued this pen! I have been hoarding them and when I run out I will not be a happy inker!
